With a good field of car we were in for some good racing, New driver Lee Hazeltine started at the rear of the field behind points leader Jonathon Pooley, But at the front it was Andrew Lewis who was leading the cars away on a damp track as a shower come across the track, Steve Dawson and Pete Dorrell in the yellow grade cars were 2nd & 3rd,Nel Clarke and Allen Herbert were 4th & 5th Marcus Retchless was giving the VW its first run out with the new engine and paint job was 6th with the red graded cars of Marc de Land Cliff Bunn Steve young Daniel & Jonathon Pooley, Phil Retchless and the new driver Lee Hazeltine getting the feel of the car.

On Lap three Steve Dawson took the lead from Andrew Lewis also Marc de Land took Marcus Retchless down the back straight 6th, By lap 7 Pete Dorrell went round the outside of Andrew to move up to 2nd, then Neil Clarke, Allen Herbert, Marc de Land Daniel Pooley were all bunched together going into turn one. Andrew kept a tight inside line which aloud all the cars to go round the out side, But Daniel Pooley got boxed in by his brother Jonathon, as Neil tried to fend off Allen, Marc de Land nipped up on the inside of the both of them to move up to 3rd which became 2nd when he passed Pete Dorell around the out side on turn 1. Jonathon Pooley was closing in on Marc with Daniel just behind,these three drivers were nose to tail for 5 laps, when Marc came up to some back markers he went to go round the outside but the door was closed by the back marker allowing Jonathon and aniel through on the inside, But still out in front was Steve Dawson who had built up a good lead. On the last lap Jonathon who had closed the gap on Steve tried all he could to pass him as they crossed the line it was Steve who took the flag, well done to him on a good drive.

With a full grid of cars we got under way with Andrew Lewis in the lead but again Steve Dawson was closing in fast, and by lap 2 was into the lead, further down the field there was a coming together of Marc de Land and Phil Retchless with Marc having a too closer look at the Yarmouth fencing. Two laps later on the same bend Allen Herbert just caught the back of Pete Dorrell's rear tyre breaking his front inside wishbone. While this was going on Jonathon Pooley spun to avoid a coming together with the group of cars as Allen pulled up to the fence by Marc's car.

Phil Retchless was being put under pressure by Daniel Pooley, Dan was trying every thing he new to get on terms with Phil, further down the field Neil Clarke was doing well in his Barbie car while Lee Hazeltine was getting quicker as the laps went by, Cliff Bunn was have a a private battle with Steve Young. With one lap to go Steve Dawson who had the length of a straight lead spun on turn 3 allowing Phil Retchless to take a very unexpected win from Daniel Pooley.

Final, East of England Trophy

Andrew Lewis got the car away for the final race of the evening, But by lap two had a mechanical problem and retired to the infield, this left Steve Dawson from Pete Dorrell taking up the lead, The Pooley brothers were cutting there way through the field with Jonathon doing the chasing, Cliff Bunn and Neil Clarke were having a good race as Phil Retchless took the pair of them coming down the home straight, By lap 10 Lee Hazeltine retired but at the front still Steve Dawson`s lead was getting shorter as the two Pooley brothers closed in, Lap 16 saw the first three all together as Daniel tried to go up on the inside Jonathon went around the out side of Steve boxing Daniel behind Steve in the process, it took Daniel a lap and a half to pass Steve by which time Jonathon had built up a lead which could not be closed, So the East of England Trophy stays in the Pooley family for another year but goes over to Jonathon.
