September 1988, Swaffham, Derek Kisby Memorial
Report from Short Circuit, November 1988
On to
Swaffham a week later for the Derek Kisby Memorial meeting
and it was Harry Lowe who once again won the feature race.
Harry had another comfortable win on this occasion leading
home Dermott McGivern (enjoying his first outing this year)
and Wesbroom. Wesbroom looked as though he might pass McGivern
at one point but dropped back with a handling problem. Shreeve
was fourth after a hectic scrap with Brake and Craske.
Wesbroom
cured his suspension problems to romp away with the first
support race and attention was focused on a hammer and tongs
battle for second between Lowe and Craske. Basil eventually
battling past on the final lap.
Craske
had a narrow win over Wesbroom in the final with McGivern
finishing third after leading for 11 of the 15 laps. Shreeve
was a consisten fourth with Sayell the only other finisher.
Lowe had a nasty fright earlier in the race when his steering
column broke and he slammed into the fence, fortunately without
personal injury.
