30th August 1986, Ringwood, Bill Boarer Memorial Trophy & Casa Trophy, Report by Dave Cox from Motoring News

BASIL CRASKE was in good form at Ringwood on August 30, the World Champion collecting a hat trick of wins including the Casa Contracts 25 lap final.

The Bill Boarer Memorial Trophy awaited the winner of race one, with Paul Rodgers setting the pace chased by Mick Bonner and Harry Sayell. Sayell slipped by Bonner and Rodgers to lead on lap six with Craske storming through to take over two laps later. Craske pulling away to a convincing win from Sayell, Bonner, Graham Sinclair, Rodgers and Dermott McGivern.

Rodgers set the pace again in race two with Nigel Brake and Todd Richards in tow as Bonner, Craske and Sayell rapidly made up places. Craske was soon through into the lead and pulling away as Rodgers, Bonner and Sayell diced for second with Sayell passing both to chase Craske home. Bonner was third ahead of G. Sinclair, McGivern and Rodgers.

Richards was the early leader in the Casa Contracts Trophy final until Bonner and Sayell went by with Craske behind. Bonner held on until lap nine when Craske powered by and away while interest turned to Paul Sinclair's climb through the field to an eventual second place, his car running well for the first time all evening. Craske completed his hat trick in fine style ahead of P. Sinclair and Bonner while Sayell and G. Sinclair enjoyed a quick pas de deux promoting Anthony Brewer and Brake to fourth and fifth with G. Sinclair sixth.
