18th July - Aldershot
Notes from Wheelspin August 1985 by Rod Tanswell
It was nice to see my old friend Basil Craske Midget driver
21 winning in fine style the other Thursday here at Aldershot.
Unfortunately the heavens opened up just before the meeting
got underway and rather spoilt the spectacle. Midgets never
show well under these conditions being light and powerful
its difficult to get the power on. Basil, however, mastered
the conditions and took all three including my annual trophy
and a magnificent trophy and £100 from Casa. While on the
subject of Midgets it was nice to see Midget ace Dave Cox
attending but not racing. Dave you will remember broke both
legs last year in a monumental pile up at Arena Essex. Dave
was sat down in a picnic chair, sticks at his side. I'm pleased
to report he is making good progress.
