Sunday 24th September - Northampton
The Westnofa Trophy, sponsored by the Scandinavian furnishing
concern for the GP Midgets was won by Mick Bonner at Northampton.
Bonner was followed home by Geoff Hughes, out for the first
time this year, and by Westnofa sponsored Alf Boarer, driving
John Graham's Dastle instead of his usual Arrow. Fred Harding
hit the fence hard while leading and Short Circuit driver
Brian Forrest spun out to be hit head on by Basil Craske.
Mick Bonner also took the first supporting race and Craske
carried out a hurried rebuild to win race three.
Basil Craske is now in an untouchable position at the top
of the GP Midgets points with a close struggle for the places.
Biggest improvements of the year, points wise, is the climb
from nowhere back to 6th place by Malcolm Goodman after a
bad start to the season.
