3rd July 1976, Wimbledon
Report from London Diary, Spedeweek no 21
The Grand Prix Midgets made a welcome return.
Mick Bonner recovered from a slow start to win the first race
from Michael Clements and John Smith. Malcolm Goodman hit
a parked car when going well. The second race was ruined by
two false starts and the elimination of six cars. The drivers
in the higher grade complained bitterly that they could not
see the start marshal, Paul Johnson from Australia, who insisted
on standing on the inside of the track for the start. John
Smith was the winner from Harold Lowe and Fred Harding. The
third race made up for it with an all action scrap before
Malcolm Goodman won from Roland Parker and Fred Harding.
