New Beginnings...
The first year as an independent club as the
Spedeworth drivers merged with the MARC to form the Midget
Grand Prix Club. The first committee was formed with Cliff
Davis as Chairman, Arthur Knowlton as Secretary, John Wilson
as Fixtures Secretary . Keith Fransella also served on the
committee. The Club's first General Meeting was at Chertsey
on May 11th.
The first fixture list for the new Club looked
like this although the actual fixtures changed once the season
got underway:
19th May 1975 - Kaldenkirchen - European Championship
24th May 1975 - Newton Abbot - £8 start money per car 26th
May 1975 - Coventry - £5 start money per car 20th June 1975
– Boston, 27th June 1975 - Crayford - £4 start money per car
6th July 1975 - Brands Hatch - £3 start money per car 12th
July 1975 - Chertsey - Party Time! 2nd August 1975 - Crayford
- £4 start money per car 15th October 1975 - Coventry
