Banger racing was also on the programme: Coventry v Ullesthorpe
plus individual racing. The only result given was Mick Bonner
winning the Final. This was a meeting I was unable to attend.
The local newspaper, the Coventry Evening Telegraph,
carried an advert and pre meeting information in the Friday
17th October edition.
The meeting report was in the Monday 20th October edition.
The pre meeting article referred to a Coventry based californian
called Tony Rouff who would be competing in the midgets on
an experimental basis in a Rover 3500 v8 engined car.
Reg's local library also has in its files a brochure for
Coventry Stadium (undated but he thinks circa 1975/6) which
gives information on formulas competing there. There is a
small piece about midgets which also mentions experimental
use of the 3500 v8 midgets of both Paul Emery and Tony Rouff.
Reg recalls seeing Paul Emery racing at Coventry in a V8 midget
and the announcer saying he would not figure in the results
as he was racing an experimental car.
