26th August 1974 - Ringwood
Report by 'Southdowner' from Spedeweek no 35
I thought the Grand Prix Midgets put up a great show at
Matchams for the holiday Monday meeting. Start a race in sunshine
on dry tyres and before half way meet a rain storm which turned
the circuit into a mud bath. Was more like an April meeting
with that sunshine and showers and a tough introduction to
Ringwood racing for the MARC drivers who turned up in force.
Mick Bonner has another good meeting but Frank Boyles had
an up and downer. Mick, Frank and Keith Fransella took one
race each and the last one was won by an MARC car number 47
which was programmed Ian Griffiths but it looked more like
Paul Emery who got on the control car.
