The Midgets took to the raceway first and it was ungraded
driver no 99 Derek Kisby who, from the front of the grid,
built up an early lead over the rest of the field. This he
kept until the last lap when he was passed on the final straight
after a great drive by Mick Bonner.
Race one: 1st Mick Bonner, 2nd Derek Kisby, 3rd no11
Race two for the midgets saw a great duel between no 12 Barry
Martin and no 34 Frank Boyles. Blue grade Martin took the
lead after four laps quickly followed by the number 34 car
, but to the amazement of the crowd, National ChampionFrank
Boyles was unable to take the lead and Barry Martin scored
a fine win.
Race two: 1st Barry Martin, 2nd Frank Boyles, 3rd Derek Johnson
Boyles was to make amends, however, in race three when he
took the chequered flag after gaining the lead on the 11th
lap from number 47 Ray Perry.
Race three: 1st Frank Boyles, 2nd Ray Perry, 3rd Keith Fransella
