The International meeting here at Ipswich this Sunday is
the first Midget meeting of its kind to be staged in this
country. I am told that we have drivers from Holland, Germany
and Belgium as well as our friends from the MARC. I think
the lads coming over from the Continent will give us a good
run for our money. For a start their cars have slightly bigger
engines and are a little longer wheelbased than ours. Engines
currently being used include BMW, Fiat and NSU. When our lads
went over last year for the European Championship which was
held at Kaldenkirchen in Germany they had a heard time beating
the extra power of the continental Midgets. I only hope the
weather remains fine because the Midgets can really give you
some excitement.
