Despite their forebodings the Midgets put up a great show and we had some keen racing. I reckon Roland Parker was well pleased with his long journey down from Colchester for he had the rare treat of keeping Rod Tanswell away from a trophy. Rod won the first two races but in the final could not quite catch Roland who had the benefit of an early place on the grid against Rod's tailender but for many of the late laps he was matching Rod's lap time and took the chequered flag unflurried.
