10th June - Opgrimbie
From Midget Memoirs by Frank Boyles, Oval News magazine

Getting back to the racing, it was off to Opgrimbie in Belgium on Sunday. This is a rallycross circuit with a half mile tarmac kidney oval on a hillside. Absolutley ideal for Midgets - how I wish we had a track like it in England. I managed to win three heats here, the final, with it starting to rain, going to a very rapid Malcolm Brokhurst. The only thing that spoiled it for me was having two 'wet' wheels and tyres stolen from outside the hotel on Sunday night so I had to hope that it would not rain for the European Midget Championship the next day in Germany at Kaldenkirchen.

Day two was the turn of the Belgian circuit at Opgrimbie which meant some hard traveling for the drivers to get here (having raced at Tilburg the previous day - webmaster). There they found an entirely different circuit with tight bends, downhill and uphill sections and a wrong way camber coming again downhill. Frank Boyles won the three heats easily but in the final it was Malcolm Brockhurst who went over the line first.
