The weather looked a little uncertain at the start of the meeting at White City but managed to stay dry. Once again I was surprised to see such a field of Midgets for a Wednesday. Twenty-six Midgets in all lined up for the first race of the evening which really looked spectacular. It turned out to be a real "butchers chopper" of a race with quite a nasty turn over on the bottom bend. Dick Waldock (M11) tangled with Jim Gosbee (M16) with Jim turning over. The Yellow flag went out along with the Control Car until the drivers had been removed from their cars and the race was then continued and ended in a win for Roland Parker (M18) from Rod Tanswell, with Frank Boyles in third spot.

The second race of the evening was an out and out duel between Rod Tanswell and Frank Boyles finishing in a win for Rod Tanswell with Frank Boyles second and Bill Boarer in third place with his nicely prepared home-produced Midget.

The final of the evening was again won by Rod Tanswell with Frank Boyles in second place and Julian Bye (M6) from East Anglia finishing in third place. All in all some fine Midget racing to thrill the crowd. Ii was nice to see Colin Byrne (M2) out in his new Midget. He did not have much success on the whole, but I can forsee the car being very quick when he gets it sorted out.
