Gary Bonner's Fireball
Mk4 - Rear engined Ford
Strong tube box section chassis. BMC 1300 front uprights
with Triumph spitfire rack. Purpose made rear uprights, with
adjustable shocks (the fronts are new) and rose joints all round.
The front brakes are Honda m/cycle and the rear minifin drum.
The side pods house an oil cooler and radiator with the main
rad at the front. Bodywork is mostly Fireball Mk4 with an aluminium
engine cover. The 1400cc engine is from a Mini Ford, the gearbox
is a 3 syncro straight cut box with Jack Knight Mk 3 limited
slip diff. The drop gears are straight cut, with a very light
steel flywheel. Several spares include, a complete set of wishbones
and links, with jig. Various tension springs and spare wheels,
etc. Very reasonably priced at £2000 ready to race. Fibreglass
moulds for the body nose and seat. Also purpose built lightweight
trailer, in stainless and galvernised steel, with poles for

front engined kits
Gordon Pooley is the designer who together with Andrew Hinch,
assisted Frank Knight to build the cars. The design uses Fiesta
running gear ie. brakes and hubs, for simplicity and ease
of availability, it can be powered by a variety of engines.
Andrew Hinch runs a Hewland gearbox but points out that the
design is such that any gearbox could be mounted. Contact

Leading Oval Racing chassis builders HCD are also able
